Conceptual Puzzles

The puzzle was mainly focused on spatial interactions and how they connect to each other to create an entirely new space, gradient, or atmosphere. The pieces interlock and are placed on the grid of the board mimicking a master plan by using the different pieces. The pieces not only worked with each other, but also with the board to create interactions. These interactions could be interpreted as communities, buildings, or whatever suits your purpose.

  • Small connections are made in order to achieve larger connections
  • Pieces can be fluid or labeled
  • The pieces interact with the site in a certain manner
  • Spaces have a scale to them which can be decided by user

"What is required to foster learning and creativity within a space?"

Architecture should provide various elements within learning spaces in order to encourage growth and freedom to students.

Program / Concept Development

These are broader program diagrams. They focus more on how to organize the ideas and functionality of these spaces ,rather than the size, in order to have a more cohesive design. The venn diagram organizes the ideas of the spaces and the sandwich represents how the spaces may interact in order to create “the perfect bite.”
